Titans Of The North – Jasper National Park, Canada – Connor Stefanison
Sometimes the shot comes to you. You just need to be ready for it. Keep your wide angle ready because you never know what can happen around wild animals. Connor knows this and was handsomely rewarded with this really cool bull elk on the tundra image. I wouldn’t recommend getting this close to elk (especially with antlers) but what an amazing photo. Please read Connor’s story below and then check out his amazing website of up close animal adventures http://www.connorstefanison.com/. It is full of close encounter images. The black bear looking straight at the camera is one of my favorites.
Enjoy!

I was sitting down when the two elk were further away, and this guy walked up in front of me quite quickly. I decided to stay put and sit still until he was done eating. Although this is way closer than I’d like to be to a large bull elk, it was a very exciting moment! I feel fortunate to have had the opportunity to be this close to such an animal, especially in this pristine setting.
