A magical night of Aurora over the glacier lagoon of Jökulsárlón started with a dazzling display of green and red columns. To understand the scale of things, notice the coffee shop on the right. A long exposure at a very high ISO was necessary, since the Aurora itself wasn’t very strong. On the bright side, it allowed me to reveal a zillion stars, and their reflections on the lagoon’s silent waters. Typical for Iceland, the temperature was extremely low at about minus 15 centigrade. Add this to howling winds, and the chill factor was pretty extreme for an Israeli. To be exact, this was the coldest I’d ever felt in my life- yet I will always remember the awesome sight.
